Motorcycle Instruments

All motorcycle gauges are instruments, but not all instruments are gauges. “Instruments” is a broad category of devices with specific functions, and while that category can include gauges, it can also refer to indicator lights, clocks, and trip meters, among other devices.

Some motorcycle instruments that aren’t strictly gauge-related and are available from Taverner include cast dash lens kits (upgraded parts for the instrument cluster), neutral and turn signal indicator lights, oil and high beam indicator lights and the various sensors, cables, drives and nuts that keep the instruments on your bike functioning and help you stay safe.

Motorcycle Gauges

To put it simply, a gauge is an instrument that measures and displays the amount, level or contents of something. A fuel gauge is one of the most recognisable examples, but depending on how your bike is built or customised, you may also have a gauge for the fuel or water temperature or the air pressure ratio.

Two of the most important gauges on your machine are the speedometer, which measures how fast you’re going and the tachometer, which tells you how quickly the engine is working by showing you the RPM. The higher this number, the faster you’re burning fuel and maybe even stressing out your motor.

A speedometer and tachometer combination is an excellent way to upgrade your bike with quality versions of both of these tools.
