Sometimes, it’s the smallest parts of your motorcycle that help to keep the whole bike together, and that’s definitely the case when it comes to your gaskets. A gasket is a mechanical seal that holds two things together to keep them secure and to seal the gap to prevent leakage. You’ll find gaskets on all kinds of machines, from forklifts to aeroplanes, and your ride of choice is no exception. While your motorcycle’s engine is probably the most obvious gasket location, they come in many other forms including carburettor gaskets, clutch cover gaskets, exhaust gaskets and intake manifold gaskets, among others.
Motorcycle servicing and repair requires replacing gaskets and seals on a regular basis. A gasket seal kit is a set of gaskets, seals and O-rings designed to make the task easier for you. For example, an engine gasket and seal kit will give you all the gaskets you need when you’re rebuilding your engine.
While gaskets can be small, you definitely notice the difference without them. Something as simple as a blown head gasket destroys the engine’s tight seal and can lead to problems like overheating and coolant/oil contamination. Â
If you need a gasket seal kit or some gaskets made for your ride, order online or visit the Taverner Motorsports team at our Bowen Hills workshop. Here’s a little look at some of the gasket gear we have in stock. Â
A gasket kit is an expert selection of gaskets (and other bits) designed to seal the various parts of a system in your bike, such as your engine or exhaust system. Taverner’s complete engine gaskets and seal kits are designed for a range of motorcycles that’s as wide as the selection that we repair, modify and build, from hard-to-find vintage collector’s items to sleek modern machines. We have complete engine kits for Evolution, M8, Sporty, Twin Cam and vintage engines, making securing your gaps and seals an easier process.
Gaskets are widely used in various machines and vehicles. While they come in different shapes and sizes, each one has the purpose of preventing leaks and damage. Gaskets are made to be compressed, but they wear out over time and need replacing. For an affordable price (especially if you’re repairing your bike the DIY way), new gaskets will provide a higher level of protection for your engine and bike in general.
Taverner’s collections of gaskets for sale include cam cover and crankcase gaskets, fuel and exhaust intake gaskets, oil pump gaskets, primary gaskets, transmission gaskets, and Top End and Rocker gaskets. Try us for all the gaskets and gasket-related components you’re searching for, whether it’s a valve stem seal kit or Tappet Screen O-rings.  Â
Seals are used throughout your motorcycle in areas like the shafts and bearings to prevent leaks and ensure that the bike stays functional. Usually made of rubber or similar material, seals help your bike run more smoothly in several different ways. They keep contaminants like dirt and dust out of bearings and joints, preserve the lubrication between bearings and joints, stop fluid from leaking out of vital parts of the motorcycle like the engine and transmission, keep the temperature regulated and maintain the solid performance of the motorbike.
Some of the seals and seal-related components that Taverner has in stock include transmission main shaft seals, shift shaft seals, oil pump seals, sprocket shaft seals and retainer kits, intake manifold seals, cam cover seals, clutch hub nut seal kits and more.
